What to consider
Consider longer term goals
An ICT strategy should set out how ICT can support the school's goals. Start by reviewing your current ICT provision and how it is used, then look ahead to what you want to achieve.
- Are all staff competent in the use of ICT?
- Is the ICT technical infrastructure fit for purpose, and is there a plan to spread the cost of replacing kit?
- Is an information management strategy in place to ensure that personal information is protected?
- Is any investment in ICT going to improve pupil outcomes?
The strategy should also cover how the school will teach about e-safety and the measures that will be taken to keep staff and pupils safe online.
