Examples from a local authority and school

Herefordshire Council’s stress risk assessment template covers areas such as:

  • Responsibilities for line managers
  • The role of governors
  • Stress among pupils

Parwich Primary School in Derbyshire uses a management of stress policy published by its local authority. It contains an individual risk assessment template on pages 22 to 24, and a general health and safety one on pages 25 to 31.

Guidance from a union

NASUWT has guidance on stress at work, and how to conduct a risk assessment for it.

It advises that work-related stress and anxiety should be treated like any other hazard, and employers need to complete a risk assessment to meet health and safety requirements.

Your risk assessment, and the action plan which results from it, should be regularly reviewed.

You may also need to conduct individual risk assessments for staff members who are experiencing work-related stress.
