Single central record (SCR) of recruitment and vetting checks
You must maintain an SCR and regularly update it.
Your SCR must cover:
- All staff who work at your school (including teacher trainees on salaried routes, and supply staff)
- (For academies and independent schools) All members of your proprietor body (e.g., the members and trustees of your academy trust)
You must:
- Destroy copies of DBS certificates after 6 months, where we choose to keep them
- Keep copies of other documents used to verify a successful candidate's identity, right to work and required qualifications on their personnel file
