Benefits of adapting your whole-school environment to suit the needs of pupil premium grant (PPG) pupils 

Although Ladywood School’s spending strategies are essentially determined by the perceived needs of pupil premium grant (PPG) pupils, the school doesn’t restrict any of the interventions solely to eligible pupils. This is because the school's data shows no obvious attainment gap between pupils eligible for the PPG and their peers. 

This means pupils aren’t isolated from their peers, and classmates who aren’t eligible don’t feel excluded.

The school’s pupil premium objectives for 2020/21 (see their pupil premium statement 2019/20) included to provide:

  • A therapeutic curriculum in response to health and wellbeing needs 
  • Lunchtime “nurture” activities to build cooperative and social skills 
  • Enrichment activities to develop social interactions
