News briefing: Councils 'may be allowed to run their own academy trusts'
Education secretary Nicky Morgan is reportedly considering allowing LAs to set up and run their own multi-academy trusts, in what has been described as a "u-turn" on previous plans. The move is apparently an attempt to curb a potential backbench rebellion on compulsory academisation.
