News briefing: Schools to be "accountable" for education of excluded pupils
Under a new bill announced in the Queen's Speech, schools will be expected to arrange provision for excluded pupils. They will also be held accountable for the education and progress of these pupils. The bill will also bring in new powers to academise schools, and a national funding formula.
