New public procurement thresholds took effect from 1 January 2026
The new threshold amounts are £207,720 for goods and most services, and £5,193,000 for works.
These thresholds don't apply to any procurement that started before 1 January 2026.
All contracts with a value above the threshold amounts must comply with the Procurement Act. The DfE recommends getting legal advice if what you're buying is over, or near to, the thresholds.
Contracts below these values remain unaffected.
