As COVID-19 continues to impact attendance, make sure you’re not losing sight of any non-COVID-related attendance issues. Remember to use these codes to record absences related to coronavirus, so you can diagnose which gaps in attendance are connected to the pandemic and which have other causes. 

Whole-school: establish a positive yet firm approach to attendance

But remember: while whole-school approaches are important, you should target the majority of your attendance resources at persistent absentees (see section below). This is because a small number of persistent absentees (those who miss 10% of sessions or more) are likely to be responsible for
