Template for monitoring pupil behaviour

Use this template to help you monitor the standard of behaviour in your school. For each aspect of behaviour, we’ve described what ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’ behaviour should look like.

We worked with David Driscoll, one of our associate experts, to create this template.

Ofsted will inspect pupil behaviour

This is part of the judgement on behaviour and attitudes

The School Inspection Handbook doesn't list specific behaviours inspectors are looking for, but we developed the template above with Ofsted's criteria in mind.

Examples of behaviour incident forms

Ecclesfield Primary School in Sheffield, has separate incident form templates for Key Stage (KS) 1 and KS2.

You'll find the templates in its behaviour policy (go to pages 29 and 30).
