What Ofsted will ask and look for
By 8am on the day of inspection, you must give inspectors secure access to:
- The single central record for your school
- A list of referrals made to your designated safeguarding lead (DSL), including:
- Those that were subsequently referred to your local authority (LA)
- Brief details on the resolution(s)
- Any referrals made to the LA designated officer regarding staff or other adults
- A list of all pupils who have open cases with children’s services or social care and all pupils who have a multi-agency plan (inspectors may select a sample of pupils to make sure you're meeting requirements set out by KCSIE)
This is set out in paragraph 113 of the School Inspection Handbook.
For a small number of these pupils, inspectors will check how the referral was made and the thoroughness of the follow-up (see paragraph 331 of the inspection handbook, linked above).
