Why you should integrate your budget and your SIP

An effective budget needs to support your school’s priorities for raising standards and attainment.

You can do this by making sure your budget:

  • Is closely aligned with your school improvement plan (SIP)
  • Reflects your school’s education priorities

You need to integrate your SIP and your budget so you can decide whether you’ve got enough funds to pay for the activities needed to achieve your education objectives. Your school could get into deficit if you have to fund activities that you haven’t budgeted for.
