Teachers' pay grant: what you need to know
Understand how the teachers' pay grant is funded. Find out who is eligible, how your school's allocation will be calculated, and how you can spend the grant.
What is it?
The pay grant covers part of the cost of the 2018 and 2019 pay awards for teachers.
You will have received payments from the grant in the past, and will receive the next payment in the spring to cover the costs between April 2022 to August 2022.
You receive the grant through the national funding formula (NFF)
From 2021-22, you've received funding for the 2018 and 2019 teachers' pay awards through the schools and high needs national funding formulae (NFF), instead of receiving separate grants. See our summary of the NFF.
The funding you'll receive through the NFF will be as close as possible to the amount you would have received through separate grants.
