Are your objectives SMART?

Consider the following criteria to set the most effective performance objectives for your staff:

  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Achievable
  • Realistic
  • Timebound

These characteristics will also help you evaluate whether performance objectives have been met.

You should consider the strengths and areas for improvement of your staff when setting targets, to encourage your staff’s professional development.
