Black History Month is a great opportunity to explore Black history, heritage, culture and achievements, and spark discussion about equality and inclusion.
The theme this year is ‘Standing Firm in Power and Pride’, looking at empowerment and the stories of Black leaders, activists and pioneers around the globe.

Celebrate Black History Month your own way
There are lots of ways to celebrate. For example, you could hold whole-school assemblies, adapt lesson plans, and put up posters and displays that reflect the contributions that Black people have made – and are making now – to areas such as science, politics, culture and society.
Inviting speakers from local Black-owned businesses into school, to
