It covers the more general aspects of EYFS provision, such as your curriculum and how you work with parents. 

It's likely that you cover safeguarding and welfare issues in the other policies and procedures that EYFS settings are required to have - such as your child protection, health and safety, and complaints policies.

This policy cross-references those other policies where appropriate and lists them in appendix 1.

Please note: This model policy is aimed primarily at maintained schools and academies, but can be easily adapted to suit any school. If you wish to use the policy in a different type of setting – for example, a non-maintained special school – we recommend that you check this policy against any requirements or considerations specific to your context
