Adapt and deliver our staff training session

Use this presentation to train your staff in how to communicate with parents and carers effectively and safely.

The training slides are adaptable so you can personalise them to suit your school's context and in line with your policies.

You'll cover:

  • Staff's roles and responsibilities when it comes to communicating with parents and carers
  • How to build trusting relationships and contribute to a ‘bank of goodwill’ through proactive, positive engagement
  • The difference between a ‘concern’ and a ‘complaint’ and how to resolve issues early and informally
  • How to handle difficult conversations and de-escalate conflict
  • How to manage communication safely and keep professional boundaries

This training can be delivered by your headteacher or another member of your senior leadership team.

It should take around 1 hour to deliver.
