This resource is based on the 2025 State-funded Schools Inspection Toolkit, and reflections from school leaders who have been inspected under the 2025 framework.

All staff should be prepared to answer questions about inclusion

Inspectors will meet with your SENCO and/or inclusion lead. Share these questions with them to help them feel prepared for inspection.

However, everyone in your team should be prepared to talk about inclusion.

Inclusion is a theme that runs through every evaluation area under the 2025 framework, so make sure your team feels confident talking about:

  • How all pupils access relevant elements of school life
  • How your school makes sure its practice is inclusive
