Ofsted won’t inspect AI specifically …

Inspectors won’t look at how you’re using AI as a standalone part of inspection, and they won’t specifically evaluate your use of AI.

You're not required to:

  • Use AI at all
  • Use AI in any 1 specific way
  • Use specific tools, platforms or services

Note: with AI use in schools still being relatively new, there isn't enough evidence for Ofsted to define what good use of AI looks like yet.

This is set out in guidance on how Ofsted looks at AI during inspection and regulation.
