Ofsted won’t inspect AI specifically …

Inspectors won’t look at how you’re using AI as a standalone part of inspection, and they won’t specifically evaluate your use of AI.

You're not required to:

  • Use AI at all
  • Use AI in any 1 specific way
  • Use specific tools, platforms or services

This is set out in guidance on how Ofsted looks at AI during inspection and regulation.

Inspectors may consider both your staff’s use of AI and how you respond to others, such as pupils and parents/carers, using AI. They will consider the 'quality of decision-making' about AI in your school.
