Permanent teachers working to the STPCD and Burgundy Book

This means:

  • Teachers in maintained schools
  • Teachers whose employment transferred to an academy at the point of conversion and whose terms have not since been renegotiated

The terms of the Burgundy Book don't automatically apply in voluntary aided and foundation schools, but most choose to follow it. You can find the Burgundy Book on the NEU website. 

Daily rate of pay

  • Divide the teacher's annual salary by 365 to get the daily rate of pay
  • You can do this for both full-time and part-time teachers
