Maintained schools: calculations are usually determined by your LA
Local authorities (LAs) have their own formula for calculating pro-rata salary. The formula may differ from one LA to another, depending on:
- Contractual holiday entitlement
- Bank holidays
- Concessionary days
Your LA will be able to provide further guidance on how pro-rata salaries are calculated.
If you're a voluntary aided or foundation school, you might not follow LA policies. If you follow rules from a body such as a diocese, get advice from them, but otherwise seek HR advice if you have any questions about this matter.
