Understand what 'digital inclusion' looks like 

There's no set way to create an inclusive digital strategy, and it may encompass a number of different things. Your school might already be working towards their own definition of inclusion.

Consider using the concept of 'digital inclusion' to help guide your strategy. Again, there's no single definition of 'digital inclusion', but Unicef consider someone to be sufficiently digitally included when they have:

  • A device (1 computer, laptop or tablet per child in education)
  • A strong internet connection
  • Skills and support to effectively participate online
  • A safe online environment 
  • Sustainability of access to devices and connection that are reliable and updated as technology progresses
