You're expected to assess the risk of pupils being drawn into terrorism
Your assessment should be based on an understanding, shared with partners, of the potential risk in the local area.
You should be able to demonstrate:
- An understanding of the national threat picture
- A general understanding of the risks affecting children and young people
- A specific understanding of local risks and the potential impact on your setting or learners
- A proportionate response to the level of threat and risk, considering the phase, size and type of your setting
This is set out in the DfE's guidance on Prevent risk assessments.
You can read more about your responsibilities under the Prevent duty in our other article.
