You're expected to assess the risk of pupils being drawn into terrorism

Your assessment should be based on an understanding, shared with partners, of the potential risk in the local area.

You should be able to demonstrate:

  • A general understanding of the risks affecting children and young people in the area
  • A specific understanding of how to identify individual pupils who may be at risk of radicalisation, and what to do to support them
  • That you have robust safeguarding procedures to identify and intervene with at-risk pupils

This is set out in paragraphs 14, 67 and 68 of the Home Office's statutory Prevent duty guidance, and pages 5 to 6 of the DfE's advice for schools on the Prevent duty.
