SEND register vs additional needs register
An additional needs register helps you keep track of pupils in your school who have additional needs, but who don't require specific or additional support to reach age-related expectations as a result of special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). There's no statutory requirement for you to keep an additional needs register, but it may help you to allocate resources where they are needed.
An SEND register helps you keep track of pupils who require provision that is additional and different to that offered to all pupils, in order to reach the expected standard.
For more information on the SEND register take a look at our other article which also includes a template SEND register.
