School data manager (secondary): interview tasks
See examples of interview tasks for a school data manager, including what a good answer looks like.
How to choose which tasks to set
Look at the person specification for the role and decide what criteria you'd like to see demonstrated in practice, rather than just talked about in an interview.
Also think about what's practical for you to do based on:
- The time you have available
- Who's available to help out (such as staff, governors or pupils)
For the examples below, we've set out what they're testing for and what you'll need in advance to help you pick suitable tasks.
Make sure you:
- Allocate time to gather the evidence so it can inform your final decision
- Use a scoring system for each task so that you can easily compare candidates
Read our guide to holding an interview for advice on planning an interview day and incorporating tasks into it.
