Coronavirus catch-up premium

What is the catch-up premium? 

The government provided funding to cover a one-off catch-up premium for the 2020/21 academic year.

Schools could carry forward any unspent funding to future academic years to continue supporting pupils to catch up on lost learning caused by the pandemic. 

Who's eligible? 

Primary, secondary and all through local authority (LA)-maintained schools, academies and free schools LA-maintained special schools Special academies and free schools Special schools not maintained by a local authority Independent special schools - LAs will receive funding for pupils with education, health and care (EHC) plans, based on the number of such pupils in the area  Pupil referral units (PRUs) Alternative provision (AP)
