This article is based on guidance from the DfE and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), and the conditions of grant for 2022/23.

You can carry unspent funding into the 2023/24 academic year

You must still publish information about your use of the 2022/23 grant on your website by 31 July 2023.

This is explained in section 4 of the conditions of grant.

How eligibility works

The funding only applies to primary schools. 

You'll receive the premium if you're a:

  • Maintained school
  • Academy or free school
  • Special school
  • Non-maintained special school
  • City technology college
  • Pupil referral unit (PRU)
  • General hospital

Nursery schools, studio schools, university technical colleges and independent schools don't receive the funding.
