This article is based on the DfE's Trust Establishment and Growth (TEG) funding guidance for 2023 to 2025 (see the 'information for applicants' document).

What is it? 

The Trust Establishment and Growth (TEG) fund is a competitive grant of up to £50,000 per project to provide start-up funding to either:

  • Existing trusts wishing to expand or create a new multi-academy trust (MAT) hub, or
  • Organisations wishing to establish a new trust

There are 2 funding strands:

Who's eligible?

Be an "established high-quality MAT" or an organisation wishing to set up a MAT in an area Be considered in good financial health by the Education and
