When can TLRs change?
You must keep teaching and learning responsibility (TLR) payments under review – in particular, whether a TLR1 or TLR2 is an appropriate part of your school's staffing structure. If TLRs are needed to ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching, then you must decide:
- How many posts should have a TLR
- The appropriate cash values
This is explained in section 3, paragraph 47 of the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD), pages 74 to 75.
TLRs can change with the staffing structure
The needs of the staffing structure take precedence over TLRs.
