  • What would you do if a member of the catering team was not performing to the standards you required?
  • Can you give us an example of managing staff performance from your experience? How did it turn out?

What to look for

  • A summary of reasonable performance management strategies, including:
    • Meeting and discussing the issue
    • Providing support
    • Assessing how the staff member responds to support
    • Capability processes
    • Seeking support and advice
  • An example that shows they:
    • Have experience of managing staff
    • Achieved a suitable outcome 

Question

Tell me about a difficult situation or period that you have had to manage at work:

  • How did you resolve it?
  • Did you seek help or guidance?
  • What was the outcome?
