EYFS and KS1: apply statutory class-size requirements

The minimum statutory ratio (and qualification requirements) that you have for Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and infant classes also apply to extended provision. If your extended provision caters for groups of children that are: 

  • Up to reception age, read our summary of the EYFS ratios and qualification requirements here
  • Reception age 'and older' (reception and Key Stage (KS) 1), you must use the same ratios you use for a class of 30 - read our summary of infant class sizes here
