Our single central record (SCR) spreadsheet complies with requirements in Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).

There are different sheets for each category; for example, teaching staff or governors.

The mandatory fields are highlighted in grey. Where a field is not marked as 'mandatory', this doesn't necessarily mean these checks don't need to be carried out, only that information about these checks does not need to be recorded on the SCR.

All schools must keep an SCR to show they've carried out the mandatory pre-appointment checks on staff and governors.

There's no specified format, but it must be accessible to inspectors.
