Use our template appraisal report to review teachers’ progress
It reflects the The Education (School Teachers’ Appraisal) (England) Regulations 2012 which state that you must:
- Review the performance of all teachers in your school for each appraisal period (usually every 12 months) – this applies to all school teachers, including those who are members of the senior leadership team (SLT)
- Provide a written report to teachers for that appraisal period
Our template is also in line with the joint NEU and NAHT recommendations for appraisal.

Using the template for senior leaders

- An objective on leadership
- Some reference to how the objectives link to the wider school and the school's improvement plan
