Check your requirements 

Academies and free schools should set objectives It's good practice for you to follow the objective-setting practices set out in The Education (School Teachers’ Appraisal) (England) Regulations 2012. However, there is no legal requirement for you to do so. This is explained on page 3 of the DfE's guidance for schools on teacher appraisal.
