Make sure staff know exactly which risk assessments apply to their role, workplace and activities. They should read these in full.
The checklist covers:
- Asbestos
- Children being drawn into terrorism (Prevent duty)
- Display screen equipment
- Fire
- Lone working
- Manual handling
- Stress
- Substances hazardous to health
- Swimming pools
- Work at height
- Workers under 18
Please note: there may be other areas for which you need to assess risks, depending on your school's facilities and activities.
Pregnant staff
You must also carry out an individual risk assessment for any member of staff when they have told you in writing that they:
- Are pregnant
- Are breastfeeding, or
- Have given birth in the last 6 months
