How to make your provision more inclusive

How well does your provision identify and support the needs of all your pupils, including pupils with SEND and pupils from other key inclusion groups? Use our audits and checklists to ask yourself the right questions, and help you identify areas for improvement.

Ofsted defines inclusion as how well your school identifies and supports particular pupil groups

These particular pupil groups are pupils who:

  • Have special educational needs (SEN) and/or a disability  
  • Are socioeconomically disadvantaged
  • Are known (or previously known) to children's social care, including children in need and looked-after children (LAC)
  • May face additional barriers to their learning and/or wellbeing
