Checks on agency and third-party staff
For supply staff, you must get written confirmation that the agency/business supplying the staff member has carried out the relevant checks/obtained the relevant certificates that you would have, had you employed the staff member directly. (See 'Checks on staff employed by the school').
Where this includes an enhanced DBS check, you must make sure that this written confirmation confirms that the certificate has been obtained by the agency/business.
Where a position requires a barred list check, the agency/business must have obtained this before appointing the individual, and must provide you with written confirmation of this.
